In 2002, at age 54, Lynette retired her incredibly prolific career to build her dream ranch, a program development facility for her arts foundation, Lynette Jennings Foundation, Arts for Life - it's mission, to integrate arts with society. She produced and performed over 500 shows/4500 segments featuring architects, designers and artists in the US, Canada, France and Italy and is seen as the founder of design and home improvement television today. What was intended to be a short termed media project in consumer arts education exploded into 18 years of twice daily/5 days per week broadcast, reaching 37 countries. The show shot to the top of the daytime ratings and stayed there. Her 1985 debut on CBC Canada and on US cable, the then new Discovery Channel, broke the rules and the records. it was while in LA watching the early version of Bob Villa's how-to series, and already convinced of the need for the basic aesthetic education in popular culture, that she formulated her own consumer education project: a television show that taught America about architecture, design and art in approachable terms. Lynette is most known for her books and famed interior design television show "Lynette Jennings's Design" on the Home and Garden Network. I want to personally invite you to meet famed interior design guru Lynette Jennings and acclaimed Raku artist Jim Romberg at the opening reception for our new show: "Fire and Earth." This multi-faceted show examines the diverse aspects of an artist's work in relation to earth, fire, sky and water, both as subject matter and medium.
